Educational strategies of students in higher education
Abstract
Studying of the general educational strategy of students allows to raise efficiency of all system of training. Such studies facilitate the organization of the educational process for students, enable the younger generation to adapt more quickly to the labor market. For today in the domestic science there is a lack of such studies, and this in turn affects the system of higher education in Kazakhstan. The limited information on the educational strategies of the students of Kazakhstan is stirring interest in conducting a holistic study of this problem. The article analyzes the empirical research, the opportunities of young people in the sphere of education, shows the systemic problems of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan, the formation of specific organizational solutions, as well as directions in solving these problems. The purpose of the article is to show educational strategies by identifying the motives of students in the choice of education. To achieve this goal, questionnaires were conducted in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan. Data collection was conducted from December to March months of 2015, with the use of a quota sample (800 students). The survey was conducted in large universities (L.N. Gumilyov ENU, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, K.I. Satpayev KNITU, E.A. Buketov KSU) in three large cities of Kazakhstan (Astana, Almaty, Karaganda). These cities have a huge potential for thousands of young people to achieve their goals. In addition to the capital’s young students in the survey attended by the students of Karaganda State University, the authoritative because of its scientific traditions, research school, which occupies the third place in the ranking of higher education institutions of Kazakhstan. These quantitative research results were processed in the computer program SPSS and analyzed. The theoretical and practical importance of the article lies in the developed provisions that contribute to the further development and enrichment of data in the field of sociology of science, the sociology of education, educational and scientific programs, and educational concepts. The authors as a result of the study of the article show types characterized by different motivations and effectiveness of each social group of youth, as well as the influence of a complex of factors of different levels of educational strategies.
