Analysis of the results of empirical study of value orientations at the example of the construction company personnel
Abstract
This article presents the results of studying the group values of the construction company personnel. One of the strategic directions of any modern state is primarily the formation and development of the value orientations, capable to form a system of fundamental basic values like the idea of a state policy, promoting the personal and group development for the benefits of the society. However, the realities of life are discovering serious contradictions in terms of absence of unified content for the value-meaning of public orientation and the need of the individual to differentiate the reality by degree of its importance. Regardless of the area of activities, an individual expresses his/her attitude towards the process of activities through the own system of values. System of value orientations and relationships determines the nature of interactions between the individual and the group. Studying the motives as a basis for the value and semantic area of a separate individual and group as a whole allows to shed the light on the retention factors within a company, taking into consideration the psychological features of the small group development. Value-orientation activity serves as a motivation for the personnel to effectively address the difficulties that may affect the psychological climate in a team. The scientific literature has a specific deficit of empirical researches dealing with the study of values and motives of the personnel, working for the modern commercial companies that make up the large number of employers. The conducted systematic analysis material in a psychological theory and practice, relating to the problem of the study allowed us to define that the group values in different groups, their set and functioning is a truly unique phenomenon. The author’s questionnaire for measuring the value orientations is used as a method to research of the personnel of a commercial company. The study results revealed that the most important values for the personnel of the company are «working conditions» and «scope of the work to be performed». If the team leader supports the company’s values, then the employees will endeavour to the passive perception of difficulties and ignoring the existing problems.
