The problem of money in psychology and types of attitude towards it
Abstract
The article analyses phenomenon of psychology of money and types of attitude towards it. The topic, psychology of influence of money, is very interesting, and it is almost not studied by psychologists because of kind of taboo in society, considering that it is improper to discuss the theme of influencing money on human. Monetary behavior, an attitude towards money and its influence on beliefs and human behavior in families and at work have been studied fragmentarily; a correlation has been established between value attitude towards money and per capita income; an attitude towards money, as a predictor of sales for marketers, taking into account gender and social differences has been analyzed, but there is no unified theory or research, covering this topic, yet. Manifestation of types of classified ‘money’ behavior is observed in the families and interpersonal relationships, as well as at work and in society, sometimes disguising deep psychological problems under conflict and hysteria in a form of various complexes, accompanied by a sense of loneliness, physical and emotional pain. The author shows that money is closely linked with a person, his life, work, daily activities, self-realization of own resources, hobbies and such human emotions. Analyzing literature, the author reveals that study of a phenomenon of psychological influence of money on youth, as a very substantial component of human life, requires thorough research of overall structure and also relationship with instrumental performance of coping behavior, providing a measure of professional and social well-being.
