Research of the interconnection of the types of temperament and the level of stress tolerance at students

Abstract

This article discusses the results of theoretical and empirical studies on the relationship of temperament types and levels of stress tolerance at students. The aim of this work is to study interconnection of types of temperament and stress tolerance at students. Methods of research: analysis of the scientific- methodical literature, questionnaire of H.J. Eysenck to identification of temperament, V.M. Rusalov’s questionnaire structures of temperament, questionnaire of Holmes - Rage, academic stress test of Y. Shcherbatyh. There is huge amount of evidence that stress - companion of student life. As a student, especially at the initial stage, sharpened many contradictions, provoking a variety of problems. It’s time to self-analysis and self-assessment, personal choice and self-determination. Among the most important problems faced by students is a problem of experience of exam stress. Participated in the research 100 people aged between 17 and 20 years, 50 girls and 50 boys. Currently, the problem of psychological resistance to stress is the most actively studied. Interest in this issue is caused by increasingly complex conditions of human existence in the modern world. Stressors arising in the professional, communicative and social spheres of human activities, make high demands on his adaptation resources. Lack of this resources leads to deterioration of results of activities, violation of social adaptation and the development of stress-related disorders and diseases. As a consequence, there is an obvious need to explore inside the personal resources that allow the individual to resist the negative effects of stress. The results of research presented in the article may help to understand how interconnected the individual psychological characteristics of students such as temperament and stress tolerance. On the basis of the research results it can be argued that the stress tolerance level at students, manifestation of the academic stress in students depend on the type and properties of temperament.
