Abstract

At present, the understanding of religiosity through fundamental sciences does not give a complete picture of its place and role in the social structure. Attempts at integral understanding often lead to a clash of interests and positions of various disciplines of science. The content of the article is aimed at finding out the reasons for the presence of a mandatory condition for the sign of religiosity as a rejection or rejection of the existing social order. In addition, a distinction is made in the understanding of religios- ity as a subjective individual spirituality and religiosity felt on the basis of group (confessional) affiliation. This distinction as the article will show is of fundamental importance for making clear the issues of cor- rect understanding and adequate perception of religion as an integral meaning-forming component of human consciousness. It is intriguing and new, in our opinion, to consider religiosity not through its es- sential definition, but from the point of view of the fact that religiosity itself and belonging to a particular denomination is an independent and derivative element of completely different processes. The article’s conclusions, according to the authors, can become a starting point for completely new approaches to the study of religion, characterized by contrast and clarity in clarifying the properties of everyday life.

Key words: religion, religiosity, religious affiliation, social environment, frame, social need, stigma- tization.
