This article defines the nature, content, features, types and properties of attention as a psychologi-cal phenomenon and the specific functions and place of the properties of attention in human life. An experimental study of the properties of attention was carried out in connection with the dependence of performance on mindfulness. The purpose of the study is to identify the determinants that determine the development of attention in early ontogenesis, based on a theoretical analysis of scientific approaches to understanding the meaning, structure and experimental study of attention. The main direction and idea of the study is the study of attention as a personality trait that develops the effectiveness of conscious ac-tivity. As research methods, methods of complex research are used, which include: experiments, testing, observation, interviewing, research methods of performance results, methods of processing statistical data, as well as methods of Schulte-Gorbov, Bourdon and Landolt. The results of the study showed that on the basis of a theoretical analysis of scientific approaches to understanding the value, structure, and experimental study of attention, it is possible to determine the determinants that determine its develop-ment in early ontogenesis. The data obtained showed that the development of stability and concentra-tion of voluntary attention is largely determined by the characteristics of the formation of a person as a subject of activity.
