Basics of Professional and Personal Self-Development in the Context of Competence Approach

Abstract

This article describes the main aspects of professional and personal self-development in the context of competence-based approach. In modern intensively developing time requirements to preparation of specialists of a pedagogical profile in higher educational institutions where intensively and purposefully favorable conditions for formation of readiness of the student for professional and personal self – development increase increase. According to the State program for the development of education in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the content of higher education should be focused on “...ensuring the self-determination of the individual, creating conditions for its self-realization”; “...the formation of a person and a citizen prepared to join the modern society and aimed at improving this society” (Nazarbaev,2018). 

In this program the necessity of formation in the personality of the future teacher of ability and readiness not only to apply the knowledge, abilities and skills in constantly changing conditions, but also capable to realize meanings of the professional activity, to accept professional values and to be ready to continuous professional self-development is defined. Professional and personal self-development is a process of personality formation, focused on the mastery of professionalism and carried out in the course of self-development of the individual, professional activities and professional interactions. During the diagnostic study to determine the level of competence of self-development were used the following methods of diagnostic research: theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific sources, psychodiagnostic methods. The results obtained during the study revealed the main components of the competence of selfdevelopment. That is a very important lever in stimulating professional and personal self-development of the future teacher.
