Abstract

In this article, the authors consider views of scientists about disclosure the
concept «environmental education» and «environmental consciousness». On an ex-
ample shown ecological-directed educational work, based on the Shakarim State
University of Semey of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main ecological areas of
work with students shown on an example of activity of the Ecological center of
International Science academy of the pedagogical education that is carried out on
basis of Shakarim State University of Semey. By the results of generalized approach
to research, authors have proved a huge role of ecological-educational work of uni-
versity in respect of environmental education of students’ identity. It allows students
to self-actualize in ecological-directed activities, to become a leader and to offer
own ways to attract students to ecological-directed activities, to feel responsibility
for the activity, encourage others to appreciate others’ work and save nature. All of
these together is positively reflected in development of environmental conscious-
ness of students.
