Social-Psychological Adaptation Featuzes of migrants of Almaty city.

This article presents the results of the social psychological study of migrants. Seven hundred migrants living in Almaty were involved in the research. Methods of the social psychological study were questionnaire and Holmes & Rages’ test to determining the stress and social adaptation aimed to identify degree of stress resistance as a predicting factor of psychosomatic and physical diseases formation. Data processing made by SPSS15 programme. Independent Samples Test T-Test and One-Way ANOVA criteria applied to identify significant differences in psychological features of stress between groups of migrants in Almaty on gender, sex, nationality, marital status, as well as the level of education variables. The study found that migrants’ social adaptation and stress level affects neither ethnicity nor gender feature or marital status. The study also revealed that the psychological and social-economic factors of migrants’ social adaptation and stress quite well and do not exceed the thresholds norm. The big city with its capabilities allows migrants identify priorities in not only social-psychological terms, but also the material and economic well-being.
