Abstract

The article is devoted to palliative and hospice care in the Republic of Kazakhstan, active comprehensive care of patients whose diseases do not respond to the treatment, the primary goal is to relief of pain and other pathological symptoms as well as solution of social, psychological and spiritual problems of patients. Aspects of modern palliative medicine are considered, integrated with official clinical medicine, providing effective and holistic approach that complements the special treatment of the main disease. The authors determined and demonstrated the basic components and conditions of palliative care, taking into account the specificity of so­ cial work with individuals that need it. Issues of hospices funding from the city budget, charity commercial, civic and religious organizations are reflected. A number of problems related to the process of organization of palliative care in the country are revealed.
