The role of thesocial worker to work with alcohol addicted persons in Drug Rehabilitation Center

Abstract

The problem of alcoholism among the population is being actual prob­lem of our country for many years. The methodological basis of the article is a medical and social approach to the provision of drug treatment pa­tients with alcoholism. It involves the implementation in practice of group work of specialists as: psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, social worker. This methodological approach allows us to increase the effectiveness of treatment and rehabilitation in drug centers. An important aspect of the article is contained in the description of the principles of social work, the scope and the functional responsibilities of the social worker. The proposed guidelines are intended for health psychologists, psychiatrists, drug treatment and other professionals involved in the rehabilitation of addicted patients. Also in this paper we propose the first steps of prevention of alcoholism, aimed to maintaining and developing an environment con­ducive to the physical, personal and social health, and to prevent adverse effects on his social factors and the natural sphere. Primary prevention is the most widespread and effective. It is based on a comprehensive study of the impact of the system of conditions and factors of social and natural environment on human health. For primary prevention measures include measures of protection that may affect any adverse effects on the way provoking drug factors, or to increase the stability of the human organism to unfavorable factors.
