Abstract

The situation of older people in modern conditions is inseparable from the social, political and economic changes occurring in society. This cate-gory does not directly quantitative determination. It includes the indicators richness of content of labor and leisure, quality of life, quality of food, qual-ity and fashionability of clothing, subjects of use, luxury housing, quality of functioning of social institutions, sphere of service quality level to meet the needs of communication, knowledge, creativity, etc. Demographic trends in our country similar trends throughout the world and show the absolute and relative increase in the number of elderly persons. This article identi-fies the main features of the social status of the elderly. For further analysis of the proposed structure of the phenomenon.
